Holla! Ytd was helluva fun! Zl came to my blk and passed me his sister's blades, then from my house we bladed to JP. That was some tough journey and I made it! Bwahahahahahahaha! It was no mean feat. for him because he bladed from J.West to my blk anyway. So, we sat at the smoking area of Coffee Bean and waited for Yan Rong to come. I changed out of the blades and went to order our drinks. After a bit of catching up, we went into JP then decided to take 246, then we got off the bus and went to Jurong Lake Park.and walked to my house, then they stayed till 10 to watch I not stupid 2 on Channel 8. Fooled around at the swings and stuff, and went home around 11. Miss the good ol' days.
Had tuition this morning and waited for my dad's friend to send my phone over! & yes(!), I got my phone. Then headed off to JP library to meet Yan, Pat and Hanny! After that, we went to eat bbq stingray. Then we walked to my house, yan tried to download kong kong for me, but sadly.. there always seem to be something to stop me from playing online games.
Gonna watch 这该死的爱!
Toodles!

meeting yannz & zl! (:

7:09 pm

I painstakingly edited this! Nice, innit? Heh!

Let me have some time of self-indulgence please :D
& er.. ignore the red shorts.

Today was fun, I suppose. The class watched the movie Cast Away during english in the library, and before we watched the ending part of Valliant with 5A. We didn't manage to finish Cast Away because Mr Lim KM came in for Physics. Got back our physics papers- MCQ, Paper 2 and practical. Utterly disappointing, i must say.

Then we had CL after recess &! got back our CL paper 2 & guess what?! I got 49/70, which is 70/100! Okay, this is the only good result I have so far.

Went to Meiji with the 4-1 girls (except YanRong, Cecilia, KaiXin & ShuFang) and guys- Levin, Noel, Hong Ming, Jun Da, Moon Kian & Joseph; that's half the class by the way. 人山人海, there was practically people in every centimetre square of the place. Then there was this auntie who wanted to cut our queue! A whole group of JSS students queuing up, 4-1 and some 4-3 girls. I blocked her from doing so, and she kept walking closer and closer to me. Still trying to cut our queue! Grrr! She became smart and walked out of the queue and headed straight for the counter! She said she's rushing for time. Hello?! So are we! She blatantly paid for it, when the aunties at the counter asked her to ask for our permission first. Which, of course, she did not! Shi Han then said," Auntie, don't cut queue la!" Was she cool or what? The auntie didn't even look up and left the place.

Ah, whatever.

I wanna catch John Tucker must die, love them chick flicks.

Gonna study + eat bbq stingray for dinner tmr! (:

Prelims are finally over! That only means one thing: O levels are starting in just 6 weeks!

Jiayou jiayou jiayou!

Forbidden City was awesome! But Kit Chan wasn't the one playing as the younger empress dowager, some other lady took her place and she could barely hit the high notes. That was the only thing I didn't like about the play. And heck, a whole bunch of HYSS lower secondary students utterly disgraced themselves by talking loudy, eating, using profanities in a world class theatre. Worse of all, they whooooo-ed and whistled and they did whatever nonsense you could think of. During the play, they fidgeted and oooooh-ed and aahhhhhh-ed. Bising la! & they kept turning around when we shushed them. Oye, who's in the wrong ah?

After the play, went to far east plaza with the girls to have dinner. I didn't really liked what I ordered, didn't tasted as good as it looked. We did some window shopping and I saw the top I've been wanting for ages, I'm gonna buy it soon! (: Orchard Road was almost deserted ytd, we had seats on the MRT and didn't had to squeeze with the crowd. Cool. My first time wearing heels, and they murdered my feet! The cells in my sole should be all dead by now.

Naf, Atiq, Fat, Liana and Tengy went home first, and the MAOs (w/o cecilia who didn't go to the musical) went to the Heeren! Pat and/or Hwee were looking for tees, went to N.U.M and there was this tee, red in colour with a pair of eyes, nose and hairy mouth. That was elmo, apparently. Cute tee, but Pat didn't wanna buy it. "I already look so funny, I'll look funnier if I wear this tee." Haha! So, our tee-hunting journey continued and hwee went into flesh imp (her fav.), and asked me for opinions on the tee shirts she picked. And hwee, thanks for trusting my taste. That tee is nice la, has got a vintage feel to it (:

Went to Check, and decided to buy a pair of flat pumps cus my feet hurt. I could feel myself falling backwards when I wore that. Couldn't adjust to wearing flats so quickly. But I love the pumps! :DDDDDDDDDD
Sorry to Mom and Dad for making you guys worried. But it's true that there's no reception at the esplanade, y'know? But anyways, I love you guys! Dad went to HK/ China this morning ):

I am finally getting my RAZR tmr!

School was just B-O-R-I-N-G today, the graduating classes had short talks by Ms Thambelina, Mr Nur, 乾爹 and Ms Ng CI in the hall, then stayed there to watch the movie: Silence of the Lambs during Eng banding. Many people got knocked out. One down, 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 10 11 12 13... 450659473635 down. Lots of morbid scenes in the short 45 minutes of the movie we watched. Ugh!

Got my E Math paper 1 results after recess. As expected, I didn't pass but I improved. No single digits, thank God! I expected to get much better results for Sci P3 (Chem) Section A, but it's always borderline pass/fail!

No more fooling around, no more...

Boy, am I glad! 1 more paper till the end of prelims and we're going to watch the Forbidden City at the Esplanade tmr! (: I can't wait! & the chem paper ytd was a breeze. Heh!

I gotta go, cycling w/ SBPPPLK, Lepeh and Hweee!

Toodles!

Friday 15 September 2006

Like finally! Blogger took forever (almost!) to load. My prelims are gonna be over soon! Just 3 more days of papers, that is, till the 20th & the sec 4s taking history/ literature will be watching Forbidden City on that day :DDDDDDDD

Had my Chinese papers today, and thankfully, it wasn't tough! Left with F&N, chemistry, lit paper 2 & sci paper 1. I'm gonna mugmugmugmugmugmugmug real hard this weekend. Gonna collect my necklace from the online shop owner on saturday (:

Isn't it pretty? :D The red thing there is a rose.
Am in the comp. lab now, doing F&N coursework. Boo~

All the best to me!

Tuesday 12 September 2006

Praise the Lord! Pastor Liu had a successful operation & is now recuperating @ her sister's house. (:

Jieying asked me 2 qns just now.

1) How was the cell group last sunday?
2) Is there anything you see in the cell group? What? ( I assumed she meant room for improvement)

I genuinely enjoyed cell group that day.
We read an article titled "No more Mr. Nice Group".
It's about 5 practices that take small groups beyond polite sharing to the disciplines that change lives.

Confession: remove the masks
We all wear masks. We hide from each other. It's part of our falleness. That is why one of the most formative practices in a small group is confession. Confession is the appropriate disclosure of my brokenness, temptations, sin, and victories for the purpose of healing, forgiveness, and spiritual growth. Without confession we are a community hiding from the truth.

To see real transformation, small groups must begin with reality. By removing our masks through the discipline of confession, we acknowledge the reality of who we are and open ourselves to God's transforming work.

Application: look in the mirror
James 1:23 says, "Those who listen to the Word, but do not do what it says, are like poeple who look at their faces in the mirror, and after looking at themselves, go away immediately forget what they look like." A small group is a place for people to look into the mirror, discover who they are, and then ask, "How do I apply God's Word into my life as it really is?"

What would Jesus do if someone cut him off in traffic? Would he say, "I don't condemn you; go and sim no more?" Or would he roll down the window and shout," Woe to you, you whitewashed sepulcher, it will be better for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of Judgement than for you." ? What would Jesus do? Alot of people have heard about Jesus, but many have not been taught how to apply Jesus' teachings to their real lives. Small groups can address this gap.

What we desperately need are small groups to be schools of life. Imagine soneome has a problem of anger- a small group leader should ask them:"What kinds of situations tend to get you angry, and how do you resppond?" Give them some alternatvies to sinful patterns of anger. Roleplay these situations in the small group. Then next week ask, "How did it go?"If they got it right, celebrate it. If they didn't, investigate what happened, and encourage them to do it differently next time.

Accountability: Stand on the scale
I have made certain commitments about food and exercise in my life, but how serious I am about those commitments is difficult to determine without measuring my progress. Ascale serves as a tool of accountability for me. Am I achieving my goal, or am I missing it? Ultimately the scale reveals how effective I have been in living up to my commitment.

Small groups are the place for people to get onthe scale and reveal how intentional they have been to pursue transformation into the image of Christ. People do not drift into full devotion to Christ. People do not drift into becoming loving, joy-filled, patient, winsome, worldchangers. It requires intention and effort.
But the default mode of the human heart is to drift. If a person has experienced real transformation, it's typically because someone else has cared enough to say, "i want you to live God's way, and I want to help you know if you are serious about it."

Guidance: follow the map
When people needs directions to a place they have never been, they use a map. Too often when people have major life-forming decisions to make, they make them alone.

The small group is to be where we find guidance, where we help each other learn how to listen to God. Small groups who rely upon God's Spirit serve as a map for us when making important decisions. Small groups should be places where people gather to hear God through prayer and listening. Every small group meeting should include this question, "Is anybody facing a significant decision this week?" And in community the group should seek the Spirit's voice for they people facing the decision.

Church of the Saviour in Washington D.C. practices this discipline by what they term "sounding the call". When someone has a significant decision to make, the community enters a time of prayer and listening to God. They speak openly with each other about their sense of what God is saying. They take seriouslythey leading of the Spirit while avoiding any sense of superiority or control.

Encouragement: embrace each other
A hug is a gesture of love & encouragement. An embrace represents what we all need from a community of transformation. We need to know that someone is committed to us and loves us. That cannot happen when we are alone, and it cannot happen in a large gathering. It is going to happen through smaller communities.
Today small groups have the privilege of loving and accepting human beings for whom Christ gave his life. In these groups, we can supply the love, encouragement, and embrace people need to continue their journey of transformation.
A long time ago, I decided I wanted to talk to someone honestly about my temptations, where I had messed up, I wanted to practise the discipline of confession. So I asked my friend Rick if we could meet. By that time, I had know him for about ten years.

I told him everything there was to tell about me- all of the darkest stuff and everything I felt the most embarassed about.
When I got to the end, I could barely look up at him. When I finally did, Rick looked me in the eyes and said, " John, I have never loved you more than I love you right now."
Those words were so powerful; they felt so good that I wanted to make up even more bad stuff to tell him. To have someone know everything about me and still love me was truly life giving.

That kind of love is what we ultimately need in small groups to transform lives. We can make small groups so complex and difficult, we can build the perfect small group strategy, but if we do not have the love of Christ present, we are not really engaged in transforming people into his likeness.
Spiritual formation in community is mostly about loving people, and that is something we can do.

How do we get rid of the masks and niceties? That is something I really want to know.
I trusted someone & told her my so-called-secret (that was donkey years ago), but she let the cat out of the bag. & from then on, I never told anyone in church anything.

How do we put our trust in someone, & be ensured that this trust will not be betrayed?

I can't be bothered. Really.
No one'll ever understand what I'm going through. They'll just shove it off, saying I'm emo. No, you don't know how much they mean to me. Now let me tell you, they mean the world to me. Love? What love? Hope? What hope?

11:15 pm

Sunday 3 September 2006

Ana's leaving on Wed. Did I mention this before? Oh well, it must be God's will. She got married less than 2 months and she's already preggers. What can I say? It's time for you to be a mother already. We'll definitely miss you cus you're like our family. The whole house is spick and span. I can't imagine having another maid, it's like betraying you. Haha! Only you can understand grandmama's temper. It's good enough just to be able to see you again after so many years. Say, 7 years? I'd definitely miss you! Thanks for being ever so understanding. I love you! (:

Perserverance? Everything bad just comes all at one go. It's tough & I'm running out on spiritual oil. God, regain my faith. I'm feeling weak & worn out. I need Your words, but I don't know how to seek You. What's this obstruction? Myself? My reluctance? My laziness? Inertia? Why is that whenever I need to do something, but I can't find the strength to. 力不从心, that's the phrase.

So, met Lepeh & SBPPPLK to cycle at around 7. Sorry Lepeh, I kept repeating on how lousy you were. Haha! :X We had tons of fun, we cycled from my house to Jurong Park to Chinese Garden (it was waaaaaaaaaay eerie there), then to Jurong Lake Park, from there to 399 to Jurong Green, we were like lil' kids @ the playground. It was alot of fun, even though there was only 3 of us. Pat's face turned crimson red (she had horns on her head most of the time)! & Lepeh, you behave like a bapok. Tsk! Stop waving your arm like that (know what I mean, sister? HAHAHAHAHAAHAH!)! After that we went back to 399 cus 人有三急 & We saw Mr Lim Kok Meng there. Haha! He looked so casual & ah pek-ish. Whoop! Cute, nonetheless. Cycled to the KFC near my house, cus Mr Flat Nose wanted to get Popcorn Chicken (& for goodness sake, you said you wanted to lose weight.), then home sweet home. I really enjoyed today's cycling trip w/ you guys! (: Let's do that again after prelims.
Speaking of that, prelims are just one week away. Le sigh!
Buck up, would you?

To end off this post!

Shihan's just L-A-M-E okay? She webcammed w/ me and showed me this lamb, pig (and the butt), 蜡笔小新 & this baby her mother takes care of. Cute!

& I received this email from NP! (:

I can't wait for the Red camp. It's happening from 30 Nov- 2 Dec. Which means I'm gonna spend my 16th birthday there. Wowee! What an unconventional way of spending one's birthday, & it's my 16th! Oh well...

After my O's!
25 Nov: LCS Youth Combined Praise & Worship (Chi congregation)
26- 28 Nov: JCC Survivor Camp!
30 Nov- 2 Dec: Red Camp!
3- 5 Dec/4- 6 Dec: 4-1'06 chalet!

Thailand & HK trip somewhere mid Dec?

My holidays are bursting with activities la! (:
I'll need to get a job. & also to Tioman Island for my open water license. Yes, yes. I'm lousy! I haven't even gotten my open water license.

I wanna go for the Thailand youth mission trip too.
Heh...

I Y 4-1!

Friday 1 September 2006

Teachers' Day was great great great great & great!
The concert rocked! Especially when Ms J, Mr Loh!, Mr Cris, Ms Chng & Ms Lappen (if I'm not wrong) performed Wake me up when September ends.
Ms J on the guitar.
Mr Cris (with the wacky wig and cap) on the drums.
Mr Loh! on the electric guitar.
Ms Chng on the bass.
Ms Lappen was the vocalist.

It was waaaaaay awesome! (:
I have to say Ms J is the coolest teacher ever!

& the caring teacher awards were given to Ms J, Mrs Juliana Ng, Ms Tang (of course!), Ms Ng Ching Ing, Mr Lee Kok Leong (HUH?!) & Mr Lee Lin Sheng.

5 out of the 6 teachers teach us! :D

Met yannz, hanny & tengy @ JE interchange t watch my super ex girlfriend.
Was told that the movie wasn't screening anymore, so we watched Dragon Tiger Gate instead, @ only $5! (Promotion only @ Suntec!)

:D

It didn't turn out as bad as I thought it'd be.
'Cept for the ugly wigs and the lead actor (Donnie Yen) who looked too old for the role, everything was great.
& my cutie actor who plays as Angus in 妙手仁心 II was in the movie too!
He plays Nicholas Tse's junior.

After the movie, we went to Raffles Place to wait for the rest.
Met up w/ cecilia for some window shopping.

Just look @ us! Hahaahah!
Self- deception.

Everyone arrived & we walked to Lau Pa Sat.
4 tables were joined to allow all of us to sit @ the table!
Ordered 200 satays!
Amirul, some 4C guy, Azizan & darling Putri joined us, but they sat @ another table.

Here's Azizan and Putri. They're so sweet, & both dressed like they're in the 70s. Lol!

I LOVE 4-1!

Well, everyone should know Hongming's gay by now.

Us horsing buffalo-ing around.

(: I really enjoyed myself yesterday!
4-1 rocks!
